7 Sorrows, 5 wounds, The Rosary & the Peace of Christ

Matt 10:34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword.

Lk 12:51 Think ye, that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no; but separation.

12:52 For there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided: three against two, and two against three.

12:53 The father shall be divided against the son and the son against his father: the mother against the daughter and the daughter against her mother

1st Grace & peace be with you. Christ is here and the peace he promised also. Make no mistake because the great sacrifice on Calvary was not in vain. The good news, is 'everlasting peace in every place'. It is a peace 'which surpasseth all understanding'. Yet it is not a peace which The world grasps, understands, or accepts. We must follow the example of our blessed virgin Mary the mother of God who , Lk 2:19 "But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart." 

In Lk 1:28-30 "And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Who having heard, was troubled at his saying and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God." We ask not what manner of salutation but what is peace is it? So like Mary we too ask, 'What manner of' peace 'this should be?' 

    Yet as we know coming this Sunday we celebrate 'Septem Dolorum Beatae Mariae Virginis',  The Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Likewise in Mary's 7 sorrows are 7 joys. What we have are words calling us to see with new eyes a new world. Apocalypse21:1" I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth was gone: and the sea is now no more." Because by human standards torture, treachery, pain, unrequited love and sorrow are failures. Yet they are the story of Christ, our Christ, Our Saviour, our church and our Holy Catholic Faith. 

We must have spiritual sight or else we perish. 

     Hosea loved Gomer yet she loved him not, rather she loved many and spiraled into a decline. She had the sickness of a moth ever returning to the flame. Till she was spent and weakened, sold into slavery where her love of many brought her to ruin. Yet did not Hosea buy her back for 15 pieces of silver? Did he not take her again to wife and deliver her out of bondage?

   

As you connect with Blessed Mary's Seven Dolors, her 7 Sorrows. think of Peace, which passeth all understanding, as Our life in Christ. As we daily pray Our Lady's psalter remember the 5 large beads. They are your 'eyes' to see the peace of Christ. As you day after day pray the rosary realize Mary is the Mediatrix of Graces, to her you must go. She will bring you the place and time to know the peace. She is the spouse of the Holy Ghost, as we are married to this rosary. And like a marriage it is for richer and poorer, in sickness and in health- as you daily merge into the mysteries remember the crucifix on the end and the 5 large beads. 

They are the keys to peace, for they are rightly called, as we all know the 5 wounds of Christ. Feel them in your fingers, in your hands, as they were in his. 

The  4 wounds where the nails went in and the Jn19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear opened his side: and immediately there came out blood and water. As you stand with Mary, Jn 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother...19:27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother.  And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. So like John take her as your own. 

And let the blood and water pour over you

Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes February 11, 2013

Today was the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. From February 11 to July 16, 1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary came down eighteen times from heaven (Introit), and showed herself to Saint Bernadette Soubirous (Collect), in the cave of the rock at Massabielle (Gradual). On March 25, she said to the little shepherdess of 14 years of age: "I am the Immaculate Conception." Today's feast therefore recalls Mary's triumph over the serpent (Tract) which the Septuagesimal liturgy has in mind. --- Sources: Saint Andrew Daily Missal and the Marian Missal , 1945
It was a powerful mass, the priest wore blue vestments, to honor our Queen, Our lady of Lourdes, he spoke in the language of Rome, not Italian but Latin, "we who celebrate the feast of the Apparition of the same holy Virgin, may obtain health both of soul and body",
I could see the infinite blessings of Mary flowing through the cross, over the head of the priest and out into the world....."in unitate Spiritus Sancti, Deus", when the priest said this, " in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God", I could feel the smiling face of Mary, AllOneGod.
---...the reading of the Epistle was from the last book of the Bible, Revelations, EPISTLE: Apocalypse 11: 10; 12: 1, 10 ...and spoke of Mary, Enthroned in heaven, The fifth mystery of the holy Rosary of the Virgin mother of God, our Lady of Lourdes, as she must of Appeared to St. Bernadette that night at the grotto at the cave at Lourdes, ": A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: Now is come salvation and strength and the Kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ."

The flowers have appeared in our land, the time of pruning is come, the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. V. (Cant. 10, 14) Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come; my dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hollow places of the wall.
For truly she the beautiful one, with flowers, in the clefts and hollow places like the taste of an apple, with mint and the scent of sage brush after a rain, a hint of rosé.
Luke 1:37-38 was the gospel, and what good news, " And the angel said to her : Fear not, Mary, for thou has found grace with God. Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a Son : and thou shalt call His name Jesus."
Fear is illusion, There is nothing to fear because the power of god is everywhere, and the basic truth of God is Satchidananda existence knowledge and bliss( bless) so what is there to fear. Anger, bitterness, hatred, jealousy and fear these are the states of mind that hold us back and where there is God there is no fear because there is truth. And here in the Mass is truth, the truth of Christ's suffering, death and resurrection.
An Angel is a messenger and Angel is like an ow,l owl is the messenger of the animals... the owl lives in the night but it also lives in the day... it lives in that transition time between night and day... and the owl is the messenger of the Earth Mother...The angel is the messenger speaking to Mary telling Mary if there is nothing to fear that her soul, her reality is existence knowledge and blis. Sat Chid Ananda.
Now the angel of the Lord appeared to Mary and told her that she would conceive a son and his name would be Jesus. Mary was surprised that she would conceive because she had not known man. Now the lesson is we must all conceive, both men and women must conceive because the conception, the immaculate conception is the idea, and that idea is Jesus, that must be born in us we all are giving birth to the ideas of the divine consciousness. This is what I understood in the gospel of the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Father Joseph Terra on Pope Benedict's resignation

Fr Joseph Terra, FSSP spoke Monday February 11, 2013 on the news of Pope Benedict's resignation. Fr Terra leads a catechism class each Monday evening after 630 PM mass. Fr Terra is with the Fraternal Society of St Peter FSSP, who formed under Pope JohnPaull II, minister to those attached to the Extra-Ordinary Form, the Traditional Latin Mass of 1962. Father Terra explains that Pope Benedict is not the first Pope to resign, and he explains an earlier situation 600 years ago. Fr Terra hopes he will live long enough to see Pope Benedict recognized for his saintly and holy qualities. He believes that Pope Benedict is a Catholic hero whose strength is his honesty and humility.

Hummus bit Tahini: Perfect Lenten Meal

       A traditional middle eastern dish. Hummus dipped in bread makes a great Lenten meal.
Beans with grain, in this example garbanzo beans with wheat pita bread, supply a complete protein.
       Traditional Catholics fast for the 40 days beginning with Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2013 through Easter Sunday. This tradition of fasting goes back to Oir Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. who fasted and prayed for 40 days  in the desert. 40 is an example of a sacred number, the Israelites journeyed for 40 years after leaving the bondage of Egypt, led by Moses and Aaron. The flood of Noah was a rain of forty days and nights. After Jesus rose from the dead, he remained with his disciples for 40 days before he ascended into heaven. So 40 is a sacred space, a sacred time we create by fasting and prayer. We are creating a sacred space in our lives. 
     This year 2013 is especially important time for we as Catholics to fast and pray. Our holy father, Pope Benedict has announced that effective the 28th day of February 2013 he will decline the office of Pope, and therefore there will be a conclave there will be an election of the new pontiff. So Pope Benedict in effect is resigning and We as Catholics must now pray for the next pope and of course pray for the Holy Spirit to enlighten the church and Mary are mother to guide the Cardinals who will elect the next pope.
          

The recipe:
3 cups cooked garbanzo beans/chick peas
1/2 cup mixed sesame seeds
1 cup water
3 tables spoons calamata olives
3-4 cloves garlic
Olive oil
Paprika
1 1/2 lemons
3/4 cup fresh minced parsley
couple pinches sea salt

Mix all ingredients in Vita mix blender .add chopped parsley. Sprinkle with paprika, drizzle with garlic. Serve with pita bread.
